Searching your library
Search from the Documents page. Type a query and your library is filtered to the documents that match. Search is free — it doesn't use any credits.
How matching works
Search combines two kinds of matching:
- Keyword — finds documents that contain the words you typed.
- Meaning — finds documents that are about the same thing even when they use different wording.
The two are blended in a single search, so you don't have to choose a mode. If the meaning-based part is briefly unavailable, search falls back to keyword matching so you still get results.
A document becomes searchable once its processing has completed — see the processing states in Documents.
Narrowing results
You can combine search with the tag filters in Documents, and search within a collection, to focus on a smaller set of documents.
Searching vs. asking
Search finds and lists matching documents. If you'd rather get a written answer drawn from your documents, use Ask AI instead — that's a separate, credit-using feature.
